Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has reacted to the latest statements from Alphonso Davies' advisor, according to which the winger has been given an ultimatum by the club to decide for or against a new contract by the end of this week. "I can't wait for never-never day and say that the decision will fall from the sky at some point. Decisions have to come, from all sides," said Eberl.

"Some stone has to fall. The club is still the strong part for me," said the 50-year-old in an interview on Sky: "Accordingly, it is completely legitimate that you have to make a decision at some point, regardless of whether it's Alphonso Davies or another player."

Davies advisor Nick Huoseh described the whole situation as "unfair". "It's a very important contract in Alphonso's career and we're supposed to make the decision - without knowing who the coach will be next season or what the team will look like," said Huoseh.

Lack of salary
Davies is said to have received a contract offer from Munich with an annual salary of 13 to 14 million euros, but the Canadian is said to have demanded 20 million.

Eberl: "We think that we have made a very fair and correct offer. You have to say yes or no at some point in your life, that's the way it is. I can't wait for the never-never day and say that the decision will fall from the sky at some point. Decisions have to come from all sides."

Should the contract extension fail, Davies could move on a free transfer in the summer of 2025. "We are under no pressure. There is a normal relationship between the player and the club," Eberl continued. However, the sporting director is "far from conducting negotiations in public."

It remains to be seen how the negotiations with Davies will develop. Real Madrid are known to be courting the services of the 23-year-old.
