With a world record and the Pyrenees project behind him, ski mountaineer Jakob Herrmann is back in the racing action. After a successful competition in France, he will attack in the Dolomites on Friday with ÖSV ace Paul Verbnjak.

After the 24-hour record in January and the Pyrenees project, ski mountaineer Jakob Herrmann said he was not ready to compete because his body was not used to racing. However, he proved the opposite last weekend at the classic Pierra Menta, where the Werfenwenger won the queen stage with his colleague and finished third overall after four stages. "My body was in a deep sleep. I woke it up on the first day," explains Herrmann.

The 36-year-old is therefore in good shape for the upcoming Sellaronda Ski Marathon in the Dolomites. On Friday evening, he will start together with the Carinthian ÖSV athlete and friend of Sarah Dreier, Paul Verbnjak. The two have the same sponsor and came together as a result. Herrmann knows the course in Italy well, having finished in third place in each of the past two years. "It was certainly good for my form that I was already there at Pierra Menta," says Jakob, who wants to give it his all in the Dolomites with Verbnjak.
