You simply have to take your hat off to this woman! Because Renata Hönisch from Traun broke the 100-medal mark last weekend at the World Championships in Bormio. The visually impaired athlete has been winning at major events for 40 years and was even able to overcome another serious stroke of fate.
"Sport is my life," she says on her website. And she was also beaming all over her face when she met with the "Krone" while talking about her passion. We are talking about Renata Hönisch, a blonde, petite 65-year-old woman. She is a real unknown to the general public. But Hönisch is actually one of Austria's most successful athletes. After all, who has more than 100 medals won at major events at home?
