Wild scenes took place on Sunday afternoon in the district of Lilienfeld. Two young men (18, 20) first fired softguns indiscriminately at pedestrians from a moped and then from a car. Two people had to be treated.

The duo had probably purchased the three softguns the day before in the Czech Republic. The next day they rode armed with them on a moped from Eschenau in the direction of St. Pölten, where they aimed at a pedestrian while driving. However, they missed the pedestrian as well as a passer-by a little later who was traveling in Wilhelmsburg, St. Pölten district.

In Hainfeld, the suspects then got into a car. While driving, they shot at seven other people. They hit at least two of them with the hard plastic bullets. They each suffered bruises and had to be treated by a doctor.

Three pistols and ammunition seized
The young men were stopped by the police in Hainfeld in the evening. The three guns and ammunition were seized in the car. A provisional weapons ban was imposed on the two men. Further investigations are still ongoing. There are also initial reports that shots were fired from the newly purchased softguns on the drive home from the Czech Republic.
