Hämmerle also wins the second Cross World Cup
Austria's snowboarders celebrated a double victory at their home World Cup in Montafon on Sunday. As on the previous day, Alessandro Hämmerle came out on top with his 18th World Cup victory in total, ahead of World Champion Jakob Dusek and Frenchman Merlin Surget.
In the women's event, Chloe Trespeuch won against France, while Pia Zerkhold finished in tenth place. The season finale will take place next weekend in Mount Saint-Anne (Canada).
"Unbelievable. It was really intense, the crowd pushed me. I've never managed two wins in one weekend before. It's great to share this with Jakob," said the 30-year-old Hämmerle. It was his fifth success at home. Dusek was delighted that he was able to deliver after 13th place the day before: "I'm happy about that, it went extremely well."
