The Economic Chambers of Vienna and Lower Austria and two private housing providers have taken a close look at developments in house building and housing supply. In recent years, there have been different, sometimes dynamic market movements - depending on the sector. The "Krone" has collected statistics and analyses.

The two chambers of commerce, which account for around a third of Austria's economic output, have analyzed the situation: In Lower Austria alone, houses have become almost 90 (!) percent more expensive in the last seven years. In contrast, the prices of owner-occupied apartments fell significantly in many places in 2023. In the case of rental apartments, however, there has been a huge increase in some cases. Like the regions, the reasons vary.
