Boys threatened man with knife in Innsbruck

A young man (18) had a scary time in Innsbruck on Sunday night! He was stopped by several boys and probably threatened with a knife. When they demanded his cell phone, a passer-by who happened to be passing by came to his aid.

The 18-year-old Belgian was walking in Fuggergasse at around 1.30 am when he was stopped by an unknown man. The man initially demanded cash from him. When the 18-year-old stated that he had no money with him, two other men approached and are believed to have conferred with the first man.

They then asked the Belgian to hand over his cell phone. The perpetrators are believed to have threatened the young man with an object. According to the victim, it was most likely a knife.

Rescuer in distress pulled victim away
"A passer-by who happened to be passing by and became aware of the incident took the victim by the arm and pulled him away," the police said. According to the police, the perpetrators were probably three unknown men between the ages of 14 and 18. "They were dressed in black and probably of foreign origin. Further investigations will follow."
