“Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert shaves her head

Former "Baywatch" actress Nicole Eggert has given an update on her breast cancer on Instagram and shared with her followers how she shaved her head. 

After revealing her breast cancer diagnosis in January, the actress, 52, shared a video of herself shaving her head during her treatment on Thursday.

Confident smile
At the beginning of the Instagram video, which was played to the song "Fight Your Right" by the Beastie Boys, Eggert smiled at the camera before grabbing a pair of hair clippers. She then began to shave off her hair, with her daughter Keegan helping her in places.

At the end of the video, Eggert smiled confidently into the camera again.

"Allowing ourselves to be who we are"
The actress captioned the post with a quote from author Madeleine Eames. "Maybe healing is not so much about changing ourselves, but allowing ourselves to be who we are - Madeleine Eames," her caption read.

"Sending you a big hug," actress Jennie Garth wrote in the comments section, while Alyssa Milano added: "Grace. You have the greatest grace. It's inspiring and I appreciate you."

Thought of menopause at first
The 51-year-old, who rose to fame as lifeguard Summer Quinn in the cult series "Baywatch", received her cancer diagnosis in December. 

She had gained over eleven kilograms in three months and in October had "terrible pain" in her left breast. She had been convinced that these were menopausal symptoms until she discovered a lump.

Her biggest worry is her two children. She is afraid of not being able to be there for her daughters Keegan (12) and Dilyn (26). Her younger daughter would have no one to look after her. Eggert has always kept Keegan's father a secret.
