"Husband" surprised
Charlize Theron shocks: “Oh, I got married”
Charlize Theron playfully shocked her fans with a surprise announcement on Instagram in which she announced, "Oh, I got married. I love you, honey!" The actress also posted a funny photo that caused a stir among her followers.
In 2019, Theron announced that she "never wanted to get married". On Tuesday, however, she surprised her fans with an announcement on Instagram: "Oh, I got married."
This unexpected news came after a hilarious moment during the Oscars, where the "Old Guard" actress was at the center of a comedic sketch with Guillermo Rodriguez from "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
"Wow, I didn't know we were married"
During the ceremony, Guillermo, who is known for his lively and quirky sense of humor, took the opportunity to hand out tequila to the audience and proclaim his love for his "beautiful wife Charlize Theron."
While this declaration was part of an anecdote, it led to the 48-year-old's playful Instagram post, in which she seemed to take the joke with humor - much to the delight of her fans and followers.
Theron, who was elegantly dressed in a stunning silver silk dress by Dior at the Oscars gala, was visibly surprised by Guillermo's affectionate toast, but laughed along, enjoyed a shot of tequila and had fun with her Hollywood colleagues in the room. "Wow," she remarked, "I didn't know we were married."
Theron is "out of practice"
The "Fast X" actress, who is a devoted mother to her daughters Jackson (12) and August (8), is said to have most recently been in a relationship with model and brand consultant Alex Dimitrijevic.
Despite her high profile, Charlize has spoken openly about her cautious approach to relationships. In a 2022 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she expressed feeling "out of practice" when it comes to dating and emphasized her hesitation to date again.
"I won't accept anything less"
The 48-year-old shared in a 2020 interview with Drew Barrymore that a potential partner would have to bring something meaningful and enriching to her already fulfilling life.
"I feel like I'm at a point in my life where you have to bring a lot to it," she explained. "Like: 'My life is really good, so you better be able to offer that and maybe more,' because I just won't accept anything less."
