Vespa rider crashes in duel with car driver

Two people have come together. A Vespa rider (50) and a car driver (33) engaged in a wild fight over several kilometers after an argument, overtaking each other and even endangering other road users. In the end, the biker crashed heavily.

At around 3.45 pm on Saturday, a 33-year-old German from Rottenbach am Haag was driving his car and a 50-year-old from Gmunden was driving his Vespa on the B145 towards Vöcklabruck. An argument broke out at a traffic light in the municipality of Gmunden.

Hit on the wing mirror
Over a distance of several kilometers, the two then repeatedly engaged in risky overtaking maneuvers and precarious traffic situations. In the municipality of Pinsdorf, the motorcyclist hit the wing mirror of the car while driving and almost collided with oncoming traffic. As a result, they repeatedly "outbraked" each other. At the so-called Sternberg, the car driver overtook the motorcyclist on the right across an acceleration lane, cut him off to the left and probably slowed him down again.

Crash at 80 km/h
As a result, the motorcyclist crashed at a speed of around 80 km/h and skidded several hundred meters across the road until he finally came to rest with serious injuries. Witnesses immediately provided first aid until the ambulance and emergency doctor arrived. The 50-year-old was taken to the Wels-Grieskirchen hospital. Further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
