32-year-old man hit and injured by tree trunk

He wanted to help a friend with forestry work and was seriously injured himself in the process: a 32-year-old man fell under a tree trunk that he had already cut to size and was trying to twist off with his hands.

The 32-year-old from Eschenau wanted to use his hands to twist off a four-metre-long tree trunk that had already been cut so that it could be pulled downhill to the assembly point.

To hospital by helicopter
According to the police, the log started to roll on the steep terrain and caught the 32-year-old, whose left leg was pressed against a tree that was still standing. The worker suffered serious injuries and had to be carried to the rescue helicopter by police and rescue workers using a rescue sling.
