Meningococcus
(Neisseria meningitidis, formerly Meningococcus meningitis) are bacteria. They colonize the nasopharynx in humans and can cause serious illnesses, in particular dangerous meningitis.
Around ten percent of the European population carry these bacteria in the nasopharynx without developing signs of illness.
Meningococci are transmitted from person to person by droplet infection, for example when coughing, sneezing or kissing. (Source: Wikipedia)
Fever and headaches
If you have a fever, headache or sensitivity to light, you should consult a doctor immediately and also point out the possibility of a meningococcal infection. It is also possible to take preventative antibiotics within ten days of contact.
