Dutchman beats up compatriot with ski pole

An argument between two ski tourists escalated on Tuesday evening in Flachau (Salzburg). A 23-year-old Dutchman hit a 26-year-old fellow countryman with a ski pole for reasons as yet unknown.

Although the young Dutchman had a blood alcohol level of 2.56, he seriously injured his compatriot. A rescue helicopter had to take the injured man to the accident hospital in Salzburg.

Reason for argument unclear
It is still unclear why the argument between the two men escalated to such an extent. Investigations into the exact course of events are currently underway. The perpetrator is facing charges.
