Coach satisfied
The “newcomers” bring strength to the Dornbirn game
"That was a very good test, a real experience," said SPG Lustenau/Dornbirn coach Klaus Stocker. And this despite the fact that his ladies went down 6-0 in the test against German Bundesliga side SC Freiburg.
It was ex-Altach player Eileen Campbell, of all people, who, after coming on as a half-time substitute, turned a modest 2:0 interval lead for her Freiburg team into a clear 6:0 victory with three goals in the test match against SPG Lustenau/Dornbirn.
"But the result is less important. What was important was how we presented ourselves," said Dornbirn coach Klaus Stocker, who was thoroughly satisfied with his ladies' performance. "We won't get much stronger opponents than Freiburg in the Admiral Bundesliga."
Step forward made
He was particularly pleased with his new goalkeeper Fanny Söderström, who kept a clean sheet until the 39th minute. "She made a really good save in the first half and thwarted a few top chances," said Stocker, who can generally see a big step forward in his team compared to the fall season. Before the league resumes on March 16 with a home match against Sturm Graz, a final test match against Württemberg Verbandsliga club TSV Tettnang awaits on March 12.
