Years of commitment
Red Cross legend was “gilded” as a farewell gift
Karl Hinterwallner has been a volunteer for decades. He has now been decorated for this.
He is truly a jack-of-all-trades. We are talking about Karl Hinterwallner from Böheimkirchen. In addition to his professional work at ÖAMTC, the 73-year-old has been a volunteer at the Red Cross for many years, works in the parish and community and was honored by the "Krone" as a "person of the heart".
Farewell after 50 years
Now, alongside family, friends and companions, his colleagues from the St. Pölten Red Cross joined in with congratulations at his farewell party. Hinterwallner has been a member of the Red Cross for more than 50 years, ten years as head of the Böheimkirchen branch and more than 20 years as training manager and instructor for emergency drivers.
Honored with "Gold"
Not only did Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer honor him with a medal of thanks and recognition, Red Cross President Hans Ebner also awarded "our Karl" with the Gold Medal of Merit. Peter Stehlik presented him with the Golden Badge of Honor of the Lower Austrian Civil Defence Association.
