Worldwide media response to the murders of women in Vienna

The murders of five women in Vienna in the space of just one day are also making waves in the international press. This includes media giants such as the German Bild, BBC, The Guardian, but also well-known US media such as the Washington Post and ABC.

The fact that five women were murdered in Vienna in just one day on Friday also made waves beyond Austria's borders.

The British Guardian, for example, ran the headline: "Four women and a girl, 13, killed in two murders in Vienna" and BBC with "Austria: Four women and a girl killed in 24 hours in Vienna". A further variety of British media reported extensively on the cases: The Mirror, The Independent, The Sun, Vox etc.

Spain
The Spanish daily newspaper Diario de Mallorca also reported on the murders and stated in the headline that three of the five victims were killed in a brothel.

The German media pounced on the case in great numbers. The Bild newspaper even had the two horrific acts as the lead story online. Die Zeit also wrote about the "Femicides in Austria: Five women and girls killed in Vienna in one day". So did the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Tagesschau.

America
Well-known US media such as ABC ran the headline "Three women found dead in Vienna". The Washington Post and USN also reported.

United Arab Emirates
Particularly striking: The Arabic Gulf Today ran the headline "13-year-old girl among five women killed in Vienna in a day" and showed a picture of Hallstatt under the headline to demonstrate the "view of the capital Vienna".
