Doctor confirms: Bad diagnosis for Gut-Behrami!

The worst fears regarding Lara Gut-Behrami's training injury appear to have been confirmed. Her medical consultant now explains: "Her anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament are torn. She is also suffering from a meniscus injury." The dream of the Olympics has probably been shattered - her career is probably over prematurely. 

Olivier Siegrist is Gut-Behrami's trusted doctor and has now told "Le Nouvelliste" that the exceptional skier called him. "She said that she wanted to see me because I know her knee," said the doctor.

According to him, the Swiss skier explained the severity of her injury. Siegrist, who operated on Gut-Behrami once back in 2017, has since retired but will still meet with the 34-year-old. "I will see her together with my successor in Geneva, Julien Billières, who will be the surgeon in charge," said the doctor.

The meeting with the doctors will apparently not take place until next week. Because Gut-Behrami will not be able to land in Milan until Sunday evening. The Swiss ski racer had a serious fall on Thursday during super-G training in Copper Mountain, Colorado.

End of career instead of Olympics?
This is bad news for the Swiss athlete. After all, this winter was supposed to be the crowning glory of her impressive career. The final highlight: the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina, where she had high hopes of winning precious metal.

Instead, she is now facing the threat of a premature end to her career. The exceptional athlete had always emphasized that the season with the Winter Olympics in Italy in February would be her last.
