Series star Frankie Muniz thinks his role in "Malcolm in the middle of it all" "sucks." The 39-year-old actor played the role of Malcolm in all seven seasons of the hit sitcom, which flickered across screens from 2000 to 2006, and is back in front of the camera in a mini remake.

Now he says he didn't like the role - he told his wife Paige about his feelings after watching all the episodes with her for the first time eight years ago.

Speaking to People, he said: "She looked at me at the very end and said: 'You weren't acting at all. You're literally Malcolm'. And I said: 'I don't know how to take this, because Malcolm sucked. He was the worst character in that show!"

Enthusiastic about the reboot
Despite his opinion of Malcolm, Frankie stressed that he was "obviously excited" about the planned reboot of the series and was looking forward to being back on set with his former co-stars.

He added: "We literally started talking about (a reboot) 10 years ago ... me and (co-star) Bryan Cranston - and have been slowly working on it and now it's finally a reality. So I'm really excited."

Disney+ announced a four-part revival of 'Malcolm in the Middle' for December 2024 and Frankie later shared a video of him, Bryan Cranston, 68, and Jane Kaczmarek, also 68, celebrating the news.
