St. Anton: Hütter best ÖSV lady – Vonn also strong

Conny Hütter was the fastest ÖSV lady in sixth place in the first run down the World Cup downhill in St. Anton. While Lindsey Vonn (USA) put in a strong performance, Federica Brignone (ITA) raced ahead of everyone else.

Conny Hütter is obviously ready for her home race on the Karl Schranz slope. The Styrian, who won the downhill in Beaver Creek and the super-G in St. Moritz this winter, finished the first training session on Thursday in sixth place.

Hütter leads the downhill rankings and is third in the super-G, ten points behind Sofia Goggia (ITA) and Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI), who are ahead ex aequo.

Downhill comeback for Vonn
Lindsey Vonn, who made her World Cup comeback in St. Moritz and finished 14th, is competing in a downhill race at World Cup level again for the first time in St. Anton. In tenth place, the 40-year-old already impressed in training.

One skier beats them all
Federica Brignone was in a league of her own. Gut-Behrami was already 1.31 seconds behind the Italian in second place, while Goggia (+1.47/goal error) finished third. After the two training sessions, a downhill is scheduled for Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.
