Mugshot: Police hunt for sex offender

It was at the beginning of this year when a stranger was roaming around the Wienerberg recreation area and allegedly attacked three women and touched them in their private parts. Since then, the victims have had to live with the fact that the perpetrator is still on the loose. However, this is now set to change thanks to a published photo from a surveillance camera!

The heinous assaults are said to have taken place in Vienna-Favoriten between January 29 and February 13. The three women, aged 25, 27 and 39, are said to have been touched in their private parts and dragged off the footpath into a secluded area.

There, the man allegedly attempted to perform sexual acts on the women. In two cases, a knife is even said to have been involved. 

As early as February, the police suspected a serial offender. The area around the Wienerberg was put under increased surveillance by both civilian and uniformed forces.

Description of the perpetrator:

• About 30 to 40 years old
• about 1.65 - 1.75 meters tall
• slim
• probably of Arabic origin
• black hair
• dark beard
• thick eyebrows
• mostly wearing dark clothing
