World record! US mixed relay team makes history

A strong performance from the USA swimming team: their mixed medley relay team over 4 x 100 m won gold in a world record time of 3:37.43 minutes!

Ryan Murphy, Nic Fink, Gretchen Walsh and Torri Huske beat the record held by Great Britain since the Tokyo Games three years ago by 0.15 seconds, finishing ahead of China and Australia.

The Americans also set the second new world record at the Paris Games.

In his 5th final at the current Summer Olympics, France's new national hero Léon Marchand came away empty-handed for the first time. The host country's mixed relay team "only" managed fourth place in the end ...
