Kirchtag brawl: man hit with beer glass

At 11.30 a.m. on Sunday, the Villacher Kirchtag was festively opened and the beer tapping was celebrated with music and dancing. Seven hours later, a less festive incident occurred. An argument broke out between a 31-year-old man from Villach and a 26-year-old Albanian.

"The man from Villach hit the Albanian in the face with a beer glass for unknown reasons," reported the police. The 26-year-old was so seriously injured that he had to be taken to Villach Regional Hospital by ambulance. Once the exact circumstances have been clarified, the 31-year-old from Villach will be reported to the public prosecutor's office.
