"Krone" photographer
Over 40 years of Carinthia perfectly staged
"Krone" photographer Uta Rojsek-Wiedergut is retiring to private life after more than 40 years at Austria's largest daily newspaper. How many "Krone" photos has she taken? Probably tens of thousands.
We chased a murderer by plane from Carinthia to Vorarlberg, were up to our knees in mud during storms, drove thousands of kilometers through Carinthia, laughed and cried with readers, worked shoulder to shoulder and sometimes argued. Uta Rosjek-Wiedergut and I - please forgive me for this personal statement - have been part of the "Kärntner Krone" team from the very beginning; for more than 40 years in total.
A quick snapshot was never enough
Uta put everything in the right light; not only at all kinds of local events, but also in politics, society, reports and so on. Several 10,000 "Krone" photos - many of them on page one - came from her cameras. And she has never been satisfied with just a quick snapshot, but has always tried to capture everything and everyone as perfectly as possible. She is one of the very few trained photographers in the press scene.
Now Uta wants to spend more time with her husband Jörg and her new four-legged companion Dino and enjoy her private life. There will also be plenty to do with her daughter Nina (25).
Thank you for unforgettable moments and shots for eternity.
Chapeau! All the best!
