Four severely damaged

Now it’s clear: cars were set on fire

On Tuesday night, as reported, four cars were set on fire in Anastasius-Grün-Straße in Linz and another was damaged. Now a fire expert has determined: It was no accident. The police are still searching intensively for the possible perpetrator(s). 

The police report mentions an "external ignition source" that was used to set fire to four vehicles. Unfortunately, no one has yet been able to confirm exactly what it was. What is certain, however, is that the fires were not caused by a technical defect.

 This had already been assumed beforehand, as the middle of the five cars remained largely undamaged, while the front and rear two vehicles were completely destroyed.

Indiscriminately set alight
During the crime, vehicles belonging to different registration owners were set on fire indiscriminately by the above-mentioned, unspecified external ignition source. According to the expert, two of the vehicles burned out completely and three other cars were damaged to varying degrees by the fires. The investigation is still ongoing.
