Boy in the trunk
Dealer rammed into police cars during wild pursuit
It was a wild night in the Innviertel! According to initial reports, there was a chase right across the Braunau district - it was a case of police versus young dealers. In the end, the crooks - the driver was "on cocaine" - came out on top. There were a total of seven boys in the car - one of them was even in the trunk.
According to initial information, two emergency vehicles were also damaged during the operation, which involved more than half a dozen police patrols. It is still unclear whether the suspected drug dealers - seven 15- to 17-year-old boys from the Braunau district who are known to the police and were in the car - had deliberately rammed them or whether the accidents were caused by braking maneuvers during the chase.
17-year-old driver had cocaine in his blood
The suspects are said to have fled the scene near Eggelsberg after police officers tried to stop the car during a routine check on Sunday night. The driver, a 17-year-old Romanian from Mattighofen, who was driving his dad's car but without a driver's license, sped off towards the east.
The pursuit continued for around 30 kilometers. The driver drove around two roadblocks before the car was stopped in St. Johann am Walde at around 3.30 am. All seven occupants - one of the boys was in the trunk due to lack of space, another tried to escape on foot - were arrested and the background to the escape must now be clarified. However, all suspects are known for drug offenses and the driver's drug test was positive for cocaine.
