Salzburg woman (83) hands over bail to fraudster
An 83-year-old woman was taken in by telephone fraudsters. The woman from Salzburg believed the strangers, who pretended that her sister had been involved in an accident, and handed over a gold bail in the five-digit euro range.

The man claimed that the woman's sister had caused an accident with an injured person. He said that she could only be released if she paid bail.
After a lengthy phone call, the woman was persuaded to hand over gold worth a mid-five-figure sum to an unknown man right outside her home.
Shortly afterwards, however, contact ceased. The woman realized that she had been taken in by fraudsters. She immediately filed a complaint with the police. The investigation is ongoing.
