Series of tobacconist robberies with firearms in Vienna

On Friday evening there was another robbery at a Viennese tobacconist's, in which an employee was threatened with a firearm. Once again, the masked perpetrator was able to flee with the loot. It is the fourth armed robbery in nine days. Is one and the same perpetrator behind the series of robberies?

At around 7 p.m., a masked man stormed a tobacconist's in Vienna-Favoriten with a firearm and threatened an employee with it. The perpetrator then fled with cash. An immediate manhunt has so far been unsuccessful.

This is the fourth robbery at a tobacconist's within a few days.

Only on Thursday, a tobacconist's in Vienna-Favoriten was robbed in the same way. The previous week, two tobacconists were robbed on Wednesday - one in Floridsdorf, the other in Währing.

The police cannot rule out a connection, at least for the first two crimes, and are investigating at full speed. Because the suspect lost his cap during the robberies in Währing and Floridsdorf, the police have already been able to publish mugshots and are asking for relevant information.
