Kriwak cheers again
End of goal ban: “I shouted everything out!”
After exactly three months, Holland international Rene Kriwak has ended his goal ban. The ex-Rapidler continues to dream of promotion with Dordrecht.
As we all know, a striker is measured by goals. If there is a lack of success, then the insecurity of the strikers quickly increases...
Rene Kriwak can tell you a thing or two about that. The ex-Rapidler went exactly three months without scoring in the Dutch second division. Before the knot was untied in the 4:1 win over Breda, the Dordrecht striker headed in the interim 3:1. "That was very relieving. I shouted out all my emotions," said the 1.98-meter striker jubilantly. "My teammates were also extremely happy for me. They know how much I work for the team."
Why did it take so long for him to shout for joy? "I had fewer chances due to our change of system. Our opponents have also adjusted to us. We're no longer the gray mouse and are respected in the league." Understandable!
"It's important that we keep the flow"
Dordrecht, who were still in the bottom third of the table last season, secured their play-off ticket early in fourth place and remain in the race for promotion. "It's important that we keep up the flow and deliver in the remaining four games until the play-offs," says the Matzen native, who now has ten goals for the season, taking himself to task. "I hope it works again now. The backing of the coaching team has certainly helped me a lot." Another reason why the 24-year-old (contract runs until 2025) currently feels so comfortable in Holland. "I can imagine staying here longer, but I want to take a step forward."
