After attempted murder: Suspect died in hospital!

He apparently wanted to kill his partner and then commit suicide: After the relationship drama late Wednesday evening in Navis, Tyrol (district of Innsbruck-Land), the suspected perpetrator (49) has now died in hospital in Innsbruck.

This was reported by the police on Friday afternoon. The 49-year-old had threatened to take his own life after a bloody argument with his partner. Before the police could overpower him, the suspect managed to seriously injure himself with a firearm.

Attacks against the neck
The argument between the couple escalated completely at around 11.15 p.m. on Wednesday. The 49-year-old is said to have dangerously threatened his girlfriend (48) and injured her by attacking her neck. However, the victim ultimately managed to escape - the woman was able to alert the police.

When several police patrols, the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG), the Cobra special task force and officers from the negotiation team arrived on the scene, the suspected perpetrator was on the roof terrace - he was threatening to take his own life.

Officers used tasers
Attempts to persuade the man to give up were unsuccessful. At around 00:40, the officers used a Taser in vain to prevent the threatened suicide. 

Injuries were too severe
The 49-year-old was finally taken away by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. It has now been announced that the man succumbed to his serious injuries on Friday.
