First win under Tijsterman against Switzerland?
After the two smooth and expected defeats against runners-up Norway, the Austrian women's handball team will face Switzerland on Wednesday in their third match under new team manager Monique Tijsterman!
The home game in Südstadt is the penultimate match in the Euro Cup for the nations that have already qualified for the 2024 European Championships with Austria as co-hosts. The final game will be away against Hungary on Saturday. The ÖHB team still has a score to settle with the Swiss from October, when they lost 27:33 away from home. "We're favorites at home against Switzerland. A neighborhood duel is always something special," said Katarina Pandza.
"The focus is on development!"
Like Stefanie Kaiser, Mirela Dedic and Nina Neidhart, the Croatia international is in the squad for the first time under Tijsterman. "I'm happy to be back. We've all had a few meetings with Monique and we have a great impression of her. I'm really looking forward to the first week," says Pandza.
The team boss wants to continue the development work that began in February. "The focus is on development. We are in the process of building something," said the Dutchwoman.
