41-year-old woman raped on her way home in Vienna

A woman, 41, was allegedly raped by a currently unknown perpetrator on Friday night in Viktorgasse in Vienna. The police are now appealing for information from the public.

The victim was on her way home after work when she was pushed into a garage entrance and raped by a man in Vienna's fourth district.

The woman's cries for help alerted neighbors and the unknown perpetrator fled.

Video recordings are being analyzed
According to police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger, there is also video footage from the vicinity of the crime scene. "The images are currently being secured and then analyzed," said the spokesman. Immediate search measures were unsuccessful for the time being. The victim was taken to hospital.

Perpetrator slim and tall
According to the description, the suspected perpetrator is said to be around 175-180 cm tall and of slim build. He was wearing black or dark trousers, a black or dark hoodie and black sneakers with thick white soles. The man is also said to have been carrying a white plastic carrier bag.
