Frankfurt: Lufthansa cabin crew on strike
Lufthansa and its passengers cannot rest. The strike of the next professional group began on Tuesday morning. The cabin crew at Frankfurt Airport are going on strike until 11 pm. 600 flights are canceled, 70,000 passengers are affected.
The Ufo union has called on Lufthansa cabin crew at Munich Airport to strike from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to Lufthansa estimates, 400 flights with 50,000 passengers will not be able to take off.
96 percent were in favor of the strike
Ufo had called on the approximately 19,000 flight attendants of Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cityline to strike at the weekend. The flight attendants of the core company and the regional subsidiary had previously voted in favor of the strike in separate ballots with more than 96 percent each.
15 percent pay rise demanded
The union is demanding a 15 percent pay rise for the approximately 18,000 cabin crew at Lufthansa and the almost 1,000 Cityline employees for a contract period of 18 months. Ufo also wants an inflation adjustment bonus of 3,000 euros and higher bonuses.
