Fire department rescues cat from tree: children happy

Three desperate children from Karlsdorf near Seeboden (Carinthia) can laugh again. The Spittal/Drau fire department rescued their beloved cat from a tree on Saturday morning.

Only the cat herself knows why "Nikita" had climbed to such dizzying heights. But she could neither move forwards nor backwards on a tree more than 20 meters above the ground and got stuck. The worried owners could only call the fire department for help. The three children in particular were close to despair.

Scared and soaked
But Carinthia's fire departments have a big heart for animals. That's why the Spittal an der Drau volunteer fire department arrived with the turntable ladder and group commander Lucas Weger was able to rescue the frightened and soaked cat "Nikita" unharmed from the tree and hand her over to the happy children Mailin, Nike and Raphael. A happy ending in all situations and a big thank you to the fire department.
