Moscow reports attacks by Ukraine on Crimea

According to information from Russia, the Ukrainian army launched another major drone attack on the annexed Crimean peninsula on Sunday night. However, all 38 drones were successfully shot down by air defenses in the Black Sea region, according to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow.

Whether this was actually the case could not initially be independently verified. Moscow often claims to have repelled all attacks by Ukrainian drones. Meanwhile, people wrote on social networks about loud explosions in the region around the city of Feodosiya.

There were also reports of columns of smoke near a large oil depot. In the meantime, the Russian authorities suspended traffic for hours on the Crimean Bridge (also known as the Kerch Bridge), which connects the Russian mainland with Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014 in violation of international law.

Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014, and the adjacent Black Sea have become important theaters of war. Ukraine has already attacked Russian military targets there several times with drones, damaging or destroying warships and naval shipyards in the port of Sevastopol.
