Masked men rob sports store with a machete

A sports store in Leibnitz was robbed by two men on Friday afternoon. The masked perpetrators threatened the cashier with a knife and demanded money. They also pocketed some items of clothing before fleeing with the loot. A manhunt was unsuccessful.

At around 4.30 p.m., two men masked with scarves and hoods entered the store and went to the till. One of them was armed with a knife and immediately went behind the cash desk where the cashier was. He asked the 27-year-old woman to open the till, then took the cash and pocketed it. The second perpetrator grabbed some items of clothing and stuffed them into a blue plastic bag.

After the crime, the two strangers fled in the direction of Seggauberg. The clothes they were wearing during the robbery were recovered near the store. During the incident, some customers and other employees were in the store, nobody was injured.
