Thomas Tuchel's departure from FC Bayern Munich at the end of the season is a done deal, but the successor is still open. Zinedine Zidane is rumored to be coming. But in France, one thing is certain: "Zizou" has other plans. The star coach wants to become team manager of France.

According to information from "Sport Bild", Zidane has already made enquiries with Ribery about the German record champions. And he is even said to be thinking of taking his former team-mate with him to Munich as a link to the team. After all, he has known the club for years and he could also revitalize the atmosphere.

Nothing there - say the French! Transfer expert Jonathan Johnson ultimately explained to "Caught Offside": Bayern could save themselves the trouble of making an inquiry because of the "special environment". But he also says: "I can already imagine that Zidane is putting out feelers for possible jobs. A club like Juventus, where he was already a player, could appeal to him. You should also keep an eye on Olympique Marseille". But there is only one job that really appeals to Zidane - that of team boss.

Johnson: "I don't think he'll accept a new post before the European Championship because his priority is still to become France's national coach. If France disappoint at the European Championships, Didier Deschamps could vacate his position and Zidane could take over the team."

Great successes with Real
Zidane last coached Real Madrid until 2021. He celebrated great success with Real as coach, winning the Champions League three times, the Spanish championship twice and the cup twice. Since then, there has been repeated speculation about a coaching comeback at various clubs. For example, at English Premier League club Chelsea, at his former club Juventus Turin or as French national team coach.
