Recently, layoffs have picked up speed worldwide - and also in Austria. The most recent example is AVL List in Graz, which is laying off 70 employees and cutting 130 jobs, as announced on Tuesday.

Just a few days ago, Bosch announced that it was cutting 3,500 jobs in its household appliance division. The German company left open whether this would also affect Austria. Up to 40 employees from the 175-strong editorial team at the "Kurier" were also registered with the AMS for redundancy. Previously, 20 jobs had already been lost.

At the beginning of February, Bank Austria's parent company UniCredit announced that it would be closing its IT subsidiary in Vienna by the end of the year. Around 200 of the 280 employees were registered with the labor market service's early warning system and 80 will return to Bank Austria. The others will be offered the opportunity to move to UniCredit in Milan.
