Bloody deed in Lofer: man charged with murder

He confessed immediately after the horrific crime, now he will soon have to stand trial. A 32-year-old man has now been charged with murder.

 The man shot his mother in the face with a shotgun at close range in their home in Lofer on November 23rd last year, as reported by the "Krone" newspaper. The woman (55) was killed instantly. The perpetrator then informed the police and was arrested without resistance.

According to the indictment, the 32-year-old was heavily intoxicated (2.26 per mille) at the time of the crime and was under the influence of drugs. "My client is incredibly sorry," says his defense lawyer Kurt Jelinek. According to the expert opinion of neuropsychiatric expert Gabriele Wörgötter, the defendant has been suffering from anxiety disorders and depression for years. The court considers him to be of limited sanity.
