Why the expulsion of Gusenbauer is unlikely to happen

The notorious Vienna SPÖ Section 8 wants to expel former Federal Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer from the party because of the "Signa affair". However, a case well known to Gusenbauer himself shows why nothing will come of it. Who else is for and against and which party is at the bottom of the exclusion ranking for prominent politicians. 

Christa Kranzl and Alfred Gusenbauer are well known to each other. Both are, or were, politically and privately at home in the Lower Austrian district of Melk. In the Gusenbauer cabinet, Kranzl worked as State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Infrastructure from 2007. As if the similarities were not enough, Gusenbauer could now face the same fate as Kranzl in 2010 - expulsion from the party. However, it was and is not quite that easy with the SPÖ.
