Street food meets capital city charm: The “Berlinzer Döner” aims to bring Berlin’s iconic kebab straight to Linz. With meat and sauces sourced directly from Germany and a unique opening offer. This iconic snack will be available this coming Saturday, January 11, at Friedhofstraße 36 for just one cent.

Grilled meat on a skewer, served with a bit of lettuce, onions, a few slices of tomato, and yogurt sauce in flatbread—with or without “spicy.” That’s how people in Linz know the döner, too. However, this popular fast-food dish has its origins in Berlin, where herb and/or garlic sauce and vegetables also find their way into the bread.

A touch of this Berlin lifestyle is now coming to Linz as well, when this coming Saturday, January 11, Cem Okaytekin launches his new food truck, “Berlinzer Döner,” which he has parked on the grounds of Autohandel CM Automobile GmbH at Friedhofstraße 36.

“We’re excited to bring this tradition to Linz. What makes Berlinzer Döner special: the meat and sauces come directly from Germany. This concept doesn’t exist in Austria yet,” says Cem Okaytekin. To kick things off, he’s offering a special deal: “On Saturday, between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., the Berlin-style döner will be available for one cent.”
