Serial thieves arrested after over 100 crimes

The quartet had caused more than 400,000 euros in damage. Their preferred prey were motorcycles and bicycles, tools and trailers. Following a tip-off from an attentive witness, three vehicles were checked and lo and behold: all of them were stuffed with stolen goods.

Residents of northern Upper and Lower Austria can breathe a sigh of relief: the police caught four Czech nationals who had struck 102 times between the border and the Danube at the beginning of the year.

Trailers and bikes stolen
The three men (32, 35 and 37 years old) and a 36-year-old woman had specialized in motorcycles and bicycles, mopeds, trailers, tools and complete car wheels. The 37-year-old and his partner (36) were caught on the S 10 near Freistadt with a stolen trailer full of stolen goods.

Struck 102 times
A short time later, the accomplices were also caught by the officers near Leopoldschlag. Their vehicles were full of stolen goods. 102 crimes with almost 407,000 euros in damage were cleared up. The serial offenders struck 21 times in Linz, nine times in Linz-Land, five times in Freistadt and Urfahr-Umgebung, twice in Rohrbach and dozens of other times in Lower Austria.
