Spears hopes she won’t need surgery

Britney Spears is hoping her broken right foot will heal without needing surgery. 

The 42-year-old pop star injured her foot in a fall at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles on May 2.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene and has now revealed that her foot is still swollen and painful. However, she hopes she won't need surgery as she has had painful experiences with injuries in the past.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "Walking on a broken foot ... if I walk fast it goes numb. I've had surgeries before, twice for my knee and once for my foot. They always said it can heal on its own, but there's a big chance it will tear and break again. Well, I've always done the surgeries and it hurt more after than before, so I'm being stubborn this time. I'm going to see if my body knows how to heal itself."

Britney previously faced reports that she was involved in a brawl with her alleged boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz on the night she injured her foot, after she emerged from the Chateau Marmont barefoot and clad only in her underwear and was attended to by paramedics.

However, the 'Toxic' singer later insisted she had injured herself in a fall.

Britney shared a video of her swollen ankle on Instagram, explaining, "I really twisted my ankle like an idiot last night. Just to prove the point. It's so bad. This idiot here was trying to jump around in a living room at the Chateau and I fell. Embarrassing. That's it."
