Jubilarian charged after her birthday party
3000 euros were agreed with the Viennese innkeeper in the city center, 5763 were on the bill. The Viennese woman was outraged and suspected fraud. However, the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office charged her with trying to coerce the bar owner with bad reviews.
A lively 40th birthday party with 54 friends in Vienna's city center has now brought the hostess before the judge. The celebrant agreed with the bar operator that he should not collect anything from the guests up to a total of 3,000 euros. "That was my budget," said the woman at the trial. The mood was great until she was served a bill for 5763 euros at the end.
I told him it was fraud. If he doesn't pay me back 1500 euros, I'll write bad Google reviews.
Die Frau nach der nicht nachvollziehbaren Rechnung.
The woman was facing up to five years in prison
"That very night, my client said that this was too much and could not be true," says defense lawyer Philipp Winkler. This was also confirmed by a subsequent survey of all the guests regarding their consumption. "I told him it was fraud. If he doesn't pay back 1500 euros, I'll write bad Google reviews," explains the woman, who then did so. Before she was charged with attempted aggravated coercion - a sentence of up to five years in prison.
Acquittal. But now the restaurateur is under investigation
"By 10 p.m., the 3,000 euros were gone. I told her, but she said 'Go on, go on. Nema Problema'," said the restaurant owner, who, as a witness, talked himself into a stupor. In the end, he even says that his cash register crashed. Acquittal. But this is not the last word in the case. The file goes back to the prosecution, which is now to investigate the fraud committed by the landlord.
