The enterprising builder Richard Lugner uses the beginning of Ramadan to wish his customers a happy holiday and at the same time to advertise his shopping center.
"The fasting month of Ramadan has begun and I wish all Muslims a happy month of fasting," says "Mörtel" in a video on Instagram.
"Many restaurants that are halal"
"As always, we have many restaurants in our shopping center that are halal," grins the entrepreneur and lists a few of the restaurants. And there is only one: "After sunset, it's Lugner."
Mörtel invites all Muslims to visit his shopping center during Ramadan. You can see from the comments that his campaign has been well received, with many Lugner City followers thanking him: "Thank you, Habibi".
Holy month of fasting
Ramadan is the holy month of fasting for Muslims and is considered one of the five pillars of Islam. It is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, which differs from the solar calendar and therefore takes place a little earlier each year. In 2024, Ramadan began onMarch 10 and ends on April 9.
During Ramadan, devout Muslims practise the following:
- Fasting: abstaining from food, drink, smoking and sexual activity from dawn to sunset.
- Reflection and prayer: The focus is on spiritual growth, connection to God and the Quran plays a central role.
- Donations and charity: Supporting those in need is becoming increasingly important.
At the age of 91, Richard Lugner is now on social media like a young man. He has an Instagram channel and a TikTok channel on which he constantly posts videos.
His fitness secret: several times a year, he undergoes expensive blood cleansing at a luxury clinic. He no longer needs Botox and the like.
