Snowboard World Cup
Prommegger and Schöffmann show off in Winterberg
Andreas Prommegger and Sabine Schöffmann both took second place in the non-Olympic parallel slalom at the Snowboard World Cup in Winterberg on Saturday.
The man from Salzburg was defeated in the final by South Korean Lee Sang-ho. The Carinthian was only beaten by Ester Ledecka from the Czech Republic, who also competes in the Alpine Ski World Cup. She took her third victory in a snowboard race this winter.
The 43-year-old Prommegger thus finished the overall World Cup in second place behind compatriot Benjamin Karl. Prommegger defeated Cody Winters from the USA in the last eight on Saturday and then Italy's Maurizio Bormolini (third).
Schöffmann beat Switzerland's Ladina Jenny in the quarter-finals and Italy's Lucia Dalmasso (third) in the semi-finals. Arvid Auner was eliminated in the quarter-finals. Claudia Riegler, Daniela Ulbing, Fabian Obmann, Alexander Payer and Dominik Burgstaller did not make it past the round of 16.
