Collision in Auffach
Skier rammed, unknown skier escapes
The glorious Friday attracted thousands of skiers to the Tyrolean slopes, but once again there were fatal collisions. One of the perpetrators fled, in a second case there was no data exchange.
At around 10.55 a.m. on Friday, a local woman (66) was skiing downhill on the red marked piste no. 2 in Auffach. In the flat section above the Schatzbergbahn middle station (above Gasthof Koglmoos), she was hit by an unknown skier and fell. The woman suffered a collarbone fracture on her right shoulder.
Second skier did not come to grief
The 66-year-old was taken to a doctor in Auffach after first aid by the piste rescue team. The second skier did not fall in the collision. He continued his journey without taking care of the injured person or revealing his identity. The Wörgl police station (059133 / 7221) is asking witnesses for information.
The second person involved is around 45 to 50 years old and was wearing dark ski trousers, a light-colored anorak and a ski helmet.
Collision also in Kitzbühel
In the Kitzbühel ski area, a German skier (61) was skiing downhill on the blue marked piste no. 28 "Silberstube" at around 10.20 am when she was touched by a 20-year-old snowboarder. The latter continued her descent without exchanging data because the 61-year-old did not initially claim any injuries.
Consequences of injury only felt later
It was not until a short time later that the 61-year-old felt severe pain and alerted the piste rescue team, who took her down to the valley for medical treatment after first aid. There, the accident victim was diagnosed with a fracture of the right ankle joint and the right fibula head. The Kitzbühel police (059133/7200) are asking for information and for the snowboarder to come forward.
