Death drama in Linz
Six-year-old child dies after falling from window
A fatal accident has been shaking the residents of an apartment building in Linz since Saturday. A five-year-old boy fell from the fourth floor onto a sidewalk - apparently unnoticed by his family. Despite rapid medical assistance, the child's life could not be saved.
The appalling tragedy took place on Saturday afternoon in front of the multi-storey apartment building in Linz's Industriezeile. The five-year-old boy was found motionless on the sidewalk by a woman at around 4.30 pm.
A window on the fourth floor of the building was open at the time. It was therefore reasonable to assume that the child had fallen from there. At the time, she apparently showed no more signs of life.
Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful
The emergency doctor and police were alerted immediately and the little patient was transported to the MedCampus IV of Kepler University Hospital, where intensive resuscitation attempts were made.
Unfortunately, the medical teams there were unable to save the boy's life. He probably died as a result of massive polytrauma caused by the fall.
It is still unclear how the accident happened. The relatives, who were in severe shock, had to receive psychological support.
