Bundesliga club WSG Tirol
Investor or resignation? The rumor mill is boiling
The Bundesliga match against TSV Hartberg (Sunday) took a back seat on Friday!Because an "extraordinary" press conference next Wednesday is causing wild rumors and a lot of whispering around Bundesliga club WSG Tirol. Especially around president Diana Langes and/or an investor . . .
For a job in the stadium, please make a one-time reservation! Not because of Hartberg's visit to the Tivoli tomorrow - but for a press conference at the Gernot Langes Stadium. There's never been anything like it in Wattens! Which "unleashes" many rumors. In different directions: One that was also whispered about outside the Tyrolean borders last week: Diana Langes has lost interest in Bundesliga soccer!
The Americans (investors) want a success story: from the bottom to the top!

Too little to live, too much to die!
The WSG president wants to pass on the Oberhaus license - which would only be possible with a merger. "Not with us," Wacker Innsbruck president Hannes Rauch makes clear, "the Americans (investor) want a success story: from the bottom to the top!" No desire, because the development of the Bundesliga club has only been hindered in recent years. No Bundesliga-compliant renovation of the Watten stadium was approved - even though no tax money would have been needed; too little public recognition of the green-white club's top work over the last decade; no main sponsor to supplement the smallest budget of all Austrian Bundesliga clubs.
The license documents, which must have been received in Vienna by midnight on Monday, will contain a figure of over 5.5 million euros for the entire club (!). According to the motto: Too little to live, too much to die!
Will a major investor become a reality?
Another rumor is that Langes will hand over her presidency to her son and vice president Joaquin Fernandez de Cordova or to neo-board member Edi Fröschl. Another uplifting rumor is that the dreamed-of major investor will finally become a reality. And that the "home advantage" project could finally be tackled - the plans for this have been in place for a long time. WSG have only ever been guests at the Tivoli Oval, playing no fewer than 32 away games in the Bundesliga season!
Given the dicey sporting situation, however, it is hard to imagine that long-term coach Thomas Silberberger and long-term manager Stefan Köck will hang up their hats in the summer.
