Fuss about missing toilet
ÖGB boss: “Even bus drivers have to go to the toilet once in a while”
Styrian ÖGB Chairman Horst Schachner steps into the breach for the drivers of the regional buses: there has been no toilet facility at the ÖGK terminus in Graz for months. Schachner rages about unacceptable conditions.
Hardly a stone is being left unturned in Graz's public transport network at the moment, with digging and construction going on everywhere. This also affects the former regional bus stop at Andreas-Hofer-Platz: this was abandoned due to the construction site for the inner city relief route and relocated to the ÖGK (formerly GKK). However, drivers have not had access to a toilet there for months.
"I was promised back in November that toilet facilities would be built. I'm angry that nothing has happened yet," rumbles Horst Schachner, Chairman of the ÖGB in Styria.
Bus companies have a duty
Jasmin Kulasic, works council member at Dr. Richard, also makes it clear: "Especially in the evening or at weekends, we are often left without a toilet for hours," he shakes his head. For Schachner, the bus companies in particular need to step up to the plate: "It's unacceptable for them to let their drivers down like this! It should go without saying that every terminus should have a toilet. I demand that a toilet be installed immediately."
