Richard Lugner knew one thing for sure: he did not want to find his final resting place in Vienna's Central Cemetery, where so many famous names such as Franz Schubert, Hans Hölzel alias Falco and Udo Jürgens adorn gravestones and where his mother Leopoldine is also buried.

During his lifetime, he opted for a grave in the Grinzing cemetery, not far from his villa in Döbling, where the foundation stone for a family vault has already been laid: two burial plots have been secured here for the next sixty years, where his widow Simone and some of his children, such as Jaqueline, and their partners will also be buried at some point. "I liked it there, much better than at the central cemetery," he told the Krone.

His "dearest wives" and the rest of the Lugner clan are to gather in the church on Kaasgraben for the funeral service, at least that is his wish. However, as his ex-wife Christina "Mausi" Lugner announced in her first speech after his death, "nothing has been decided yet".

The piece, which will be roughly the same color as the façade of Lugner City, is due to be delivered in September. Here, on the main square of his life's work, there is now also a book of condolences "where you are welcome to write down nice anecdotes with Richard", as the family announced.
